Update on Community Meals as of Saturday, March 14, 2020 Hi Friend, We are continuing to monitor the current COVID-19 situation and provide the most up-to-date information possible as it relates to our programs and operations. Our Community Meal schedule has been modified, based on Governor Wolf’s March 12th mandate. Please note the following changes and meal options: - Monday Lunch will continue to be served at Christ Episcopal Church; however, the meal will be a bag lunch for guests to take and eat on their own.
- Tuesday Evening meal at Trinity United Church of Christ WILL NOT BE HELD until the Governor lifts his restrictions.
- We have been told that the 6 PM Meal at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, run by another organization is continuing to be held, as a congregate meal, in their building.
- Wednesday Lunch will continue to be served at The Salvation Army; however, the meal will be a bag lunch for guests to take and eat on their own.
- Thursday Evening meal will continue to be served at First Presbyterian Church and will likely also be a meal prepared to take with you. We will confirm such next week.
- Friday Lunch will continue to be served at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, as a congregate meal, in their building
- Please also continue to check the COMMUNITY MEALS website for changes and announcements regarding the weekly community meals schedule.
Please know that we will continue to evaluate the situation as we get more information. We are committed to providing the same access to food resources as we usually do, while taking into consideration the safety and health of both those being served and those serving.
While we are concerned about assuring essential food resources get to our neighbors in need, we are also concerned for the safety and health of our most valuable resource – our volunteers. To all of our volunteers at both the Cluster Outreach Center and our Community Meals programs, if you have any concerns about continuing your volunteer service in this current situation, please know that we want you to make the best decision for yourself and your family. If you decide that you need to step away during this time, we would appreciate your following the usual procedures for cancelling your shift.
